Gerhard Federer

Chief Executive Officer of the Schunk Group

Gerhard Federer was born in Offenburg/Baden, Germany, in 1954, where he also attended school. He studied Business Engineering at the Technical University in Karlsruhe and successfully graduated with a Diploma in Business Engineering.

He gained his first professional experience as Management Assistant in the Metal Industry and in the Controlling Department of a pharmaceutical company. Gerhard Federer held a managerial position at a paper manufacturer from 1989 onwards, was appointed Managing Director in 1997 and became Chairman of the Board of Management soon afterwards. He was appointed to a Vice President of the parent group in the USA at the beginning of 2001.

Since 1st March, 2003 Gerhard Federer holds the position as Managing Director of Schunk GmbH and Schunk Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH. Since 1st July, 2007 he has taken over the responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer of the Schunk Group – within the Schunk Group he will be responsible for the sinter metal technology division. Gerhard Federer will also be in charge of human resources, finances, strategy development, public relations and controlling within the Schunk Group on a corporate level.
