
Dr. Heinz-Joachim Mäurer
Member of the Executive Board of the Schunk Group
Dr. Heinz-Joachim Maeurer was born on 27 December, 1949 in Goeppingen/Wuerttemberg (Germany).
After finishing school and earning his secondary-school diploma, he studied chemistry at the Technical University of Karlsruhe and earned a Ph.D. at the Institute for Chemical Technology. He also gathered his first work experience as a professor’s assistant at the institute.
More than 28 years ago, Dr. Maeurer joined the Schunk Group, on 1st May, 1979. At first he worked in the Development Department for Carbon Products and in January 1980 he was promoted to Manager of the Development Department for Sinter-Metal Products.
In 1983, Dr. Maeurer went to Brazil, where he had been appointed as a member of the Board of Management of Schunks Brazilian subsidiary.
After his return, he concentrated on the Sinter-Metal Division.
Managerial responsibilities in Oberhausen followed a stay in Mexico and in 1987 at Schunk Sintermetalltechnik GmbH (Sinter-Metal Technology Ltd.) in Heuchelheim as well.
In 1990 he was additionally appointed as the Managing Director of Schunk Technische Dienste GmbH (Schunk Technical Services Ltd.) in Heuchelheim. Since 2004 he was the Managing Director of both Sinter-Metal plants, in Heuchelheim and Thale.
Since 1st July, 2007 Dr. Maeurer is a member of the Executive Board of Schunk GmbH and responsible for the management of the Materials Division, the largest division in the Schunk Group.
